The base program. It allows
the computer to do the
fundamental operations.
These are the 4 fundamental
operations:
1. To give a graphic display: The OS (Operating System) gives a graphic display that
makes easier to work with a computer.
2. To administer files: The OS has an administrator program wich allows you to organize all the
information.
3. To control hadware: The OS controls how the hadware works.
4. To administer software: The OS administer the apps installed on your computer.
Examples: Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Android
Parts of computer:
- Hadware: Is the physical, tangible part of the computer, for example the screen, the keyboard
- Software: Is the
programmes whose job it is to make the hadware carry out useful operations like
windows, Microsoft office, linux
